PURPOSE
The Electrical BIM Technician will create and develop relationships supportive of the Baker Group Core Focus and Values with team members, internal and external clients. Advanced knowledge of Electrical design, layout, and construction, using industry leading Autodesk software and other related software. Performs related work as required. Maintain and grow the “Client for Life” concept for existing and new clients.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are typical for this job. These are not to be constructed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Utilize industry leading Autodesk software and other related software to create 3D models and/or 2D documents for construction purposes (Revit+, Add-Ins, Fabrication, Navisworks, Recap, BIM360)
- Actively increase knowledge base of construction methods and detailing to improve professional abilities
- Work with Point Cloud/Laser scan files, including alignment, arrangement, compression of large files and operation of scanning and layout equipment
- Accurately modify floor plans per as-built conditions or field markups
- Create details and Revit family parts
- Create Install and Spool drawings
- Assist project team on projects to coordinate and meet strict project deadlines
- Provide BIM user support and training
- Assist with writing specific processes and procedures to improve BIM efficiency
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- One to five years of experience with Electrical systems design, layout, construction, and project model set-up
- Advanced knowledge of Autodesk software (Revit+, Add-Ins, Fabrication, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Excel, Outlook
- Proven ability to manage the process successfully and profitably and integrate detailing

ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally
- May have occasional visits to a job site which would require periods of standing, walking and/or climbing stairs
