WEST DES MOINES, IA (10/01/2025) A familiar corner of Des Moines is stepping into its next era.
Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences has officially named its property at 3200 Grand Ave. the DMU32 Health and Business Complex. This name honors the university's legacy at the site and its vision to expand health care access, professional training and community partnerships.
The site served as DMU's main campus for decades before the university relocated in 2023 to 8025 Grand Ave. in West Des Moines.
"Generations of health professionals trained here, and compassionate care continues every day at the Des Moines University Clinic," says Angela L. Walker Franklin, Ph.D., DMU's president and CEO. "We're proud to honor that legacy and to build on it."
DMU32 is already home to two cornerstone services:
Des Moines University Clinic has provided Iowans with whole-person care since 1986. The clinic serves thousands of patients annually across seven specialties: behavioral health, family medicine, foot and ankle, osteopathic manipulative medicine, physical therapy, radiology and imaging, and sports performance and athletic training.
Des Moines University Regional Simulation Center is a new state-of-the-art facility opening in October 2025. Designed to strengthen Central Iowa's health care workforce, the center will offer immersive training for high school students, EMTs, first responders and other health professionals. Developed in partnership with the Polk County Supervisors, Des Moines Public Schools, Mercy College of Health Sciences and Des Moines Area Community College, the center will host a public grand opening in Spring 2026.
In addition to its clinic and educational services, DMU32 offers premium leasable space for health care organizations, nonprofits and businesses seeking a central Des Moines location. Led by a team comprised of Bill Wright, Chris Pendroy, Grant Wright and Dakota Little, CBRE will be responsible for the marketing and leasing of the property.
"CBRE Des Moines is proud to be working with DMU32 in marketing commercial office space at this landmark property," says Bill Wright, senior vice president. "The buildings are in impeccable condition and the outstanding location speaks for itself."
The complex's Olsen Center - a fully equipped auditorium with flexible seating and AV capabilities - is also now available for conferences, corporate training and other business functions.
