Lee is Vice President of Patton Insurance Benefits (PIB)., in West Des Moines, Iowa an insurance brokerage that was founded by his parents, Jesse and Laura Patton in 1988. Lee joined the family brokerage fulltime in 2005 after graduating from West Des Moines Valley High School. Lee started his career in sales during high school as a Photo Technician/Clerk at Walgreens on Mills Civic Pkwy. Lee says he learned valuable customer service and teamwork experience during his time at Walgreens. After years of growing up in and around the insurance industry, Lee believes he shares the same passion his parents share for helping people with their health and financial needs. Lee says he understands that insurance is a very complex and confusing topic with the ongoing changes with legislation, new plans, evolving benefits and rising prices.
Lee has served as the Media Relations Chair and Golf Outing Committee Chair for the Iowa Association of Benefits & Insurance Professionals (IABIP). He is also a member of the National Association of Benefits & Insurance Professionals (NABIP) and travels to the annual NABIP Capital Conference in Washington D.C. to visit with Iowa’s federal legislators on healthcare and insurance benefit related topics. Lee has earned the following insurance designations through the America’s Health Insurance Program (AHIP): Fellowship, Health Insurance Advanced Studies (FHIAS)
Lee has been married to Sara Patton, for sixteen years and works alongside Lee at PIB. They have three daughters, Kaylee (age 13) who is currently serving as official office artist, Lela (age 7) is serving as the office redhead and Everlee (age 4) serving as office mascot.
In his downtime, Lee enjoys spending time with his family and friends. Lee is a hockey fanatic; he plays in three adult ice hockey leagues and can be found attending Iowa Wild home games.
