My journey to business ownership began long before I ever dreamed of founding Deploy-Tech LLC. I was born in the midst of Civil War, a conflict that shaped my early life and instilled in me the importance of resilience and resourcefulness.
Even as a young child, I couldn't escape the war's impact. At 12 years old, I was forced to become a child soldier. Thankfully, my mother bravely rescued me and we fled to the city of Wau, the second biggest city in South Sudan. But violence followed us, and we were displaced again. At 14 years, I was recruited once more, but this time, I managed to escape to a refugee camp in Kenya when I was 17 years old.
Life in the camp was challenging, but it gave me a chance to dream of a better future. When I was 18, I received the incredible opportunity to resettle in the United States. I arrived with nothing but determination and a thirst for education. I enrolled in the Job Corps, earned my GED, and then pursued an associate's degree in Computer Tech at Nashville State Community College and a Bachelor of Applied Science at MTSU.
Driven by a desire to give back, I returned to South Sudan as a volunteer with VEGA/Winrock International. I trained 700 wildlife officers in computer and GIS mapping skills, empowering them to protect our nation's precious natural resources. This experience earned me the US President's Volunteer Service and the VEGA/Winrock Impact Award in 2008.
Back in the US, I built a successful career as a freelance computer network engineer, serving over 300 clients and completing more than 700 IT projects through platforms like FieldNation.com and WorkMarket.com. This journey ignited my passion for technology and revealed a need for reliable IT solutions. In 2022, I founded Deploy-Tech LLC to fulfill that need. I believe my experiences have equipped me with the resilience and determination skills needed to succeed as an entrepreneur.
